Rhoda Gadama Free Medicare Launched

A mobile clinic to provide free medical services to the sick right in their respective villages has been launched in Mulanje district by a lady and concerned mother, Rhoda Gadama.
The initiative seeks to address some of the health challenges the underprivileged face especially those who cannot access health facilities due to mobility challenges and even some who cannot manage to buy drugs from pharmacies as most public hospitals have run out of medical stock due to inadequate funding.
The Rhoda Gadama mobile clinic free medical care services, the first of it’s kind in the country to be launched by an individual, brings together volunteers specialized in various faculties of human body and are certified health practitioners working in both public and private hospitals.
Some of the services offered to the public include, screening diabetes, hypertension, cleaning chronic wounds, underfive clinic as well as referring other non-communicable diseases to the hospital.
Since the initiative was launched about a month ago, over 1,200 patients have been served in their respective areas and some of the places visited are Nansomba, Misanjo,Ntenjela and Nkowa.
