From the bustling streets of Blantyre to Zomba, through Chinamwali township, and from as far as Songani and Malosa, throngs of people — many draped in vibrant Odya Zake regalia , poured into Naisi Ground in Zomba for yet another electrifying regional launch of this fast-rising political force.

At the heart of it all stood the party’s President and the country’s Vice President, Right Honourable Dr. Michael Bizwick Usi, delivering a powerful message to the mammoth crowd that had gathered in hopeful anticipation.

“Odya Zake is not just a political party — it’s a movement that will usher in an economic revolution, built on love, peace, and inclusion,” declared Dr. Usi.

He emphasized that under his leadership, no Malawian will be left behind, regardless of political affiliation, tribe, or background.
“Malawians have been their own worst enemies because they’ve allowed vices like corruption, jealousy, and the pull-him-down syndrome to thrive. It’s time for a mindset change, and Odya Zake is here to lead that transformation.”

Business Mogul Mike Ben Chitenje Returns Home from South Africa

Prominent businessman and DPP stalwart Mike Ben Chitenje, also known as Bangwe 1, is set to return home today from South Africa, where he spent a week-long vacation with his wife. Upon his arrival, Chitenje will kick-start his political campaign tour in support of DPP presidential candidate, Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika, ahead of the September 16 polls. Before his departure, Chitenje demonstrated his commitment to the party by donating materials to DPP Shadow MPs in the Southern and Northern regions. Chisankho Watch Requests Access to the Preliminary and Updated 2025 Voters Roll

A letter from Chisankho Watch requesting access to the preliminary as well as most updated copy of the 2025 voters roll, disaggregated by polling center, with each voter’s name, date of birth, sex, residence, national ID number, proof of registration number (26 digits), and registration date (as well as any other data) in an analyzable electronic format. Response of the Commission to the request which is premised on sections 20 and 21 of the Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Government Elections Act which provides as follows: 20. A voter’s register shall be available for inspection during working hours at the offices of the Commission or at any place as the Commission may determine. 21.—(1) The Commission shall open for inspection the voters register, for purposes of verifying the entries therein, by voters, representatives of political parties, independent candidates and observers. (2) The Commission shall cause to be posted a copy of the voters register for each registration centre at the registration centre where the registration took place for a period not exceeding seven days, as the Commission may determine. MCP to Pay MK666 Million in Nomination Fees for 228 MP and 480 Council Aspirants; a Matter of Public Concern

As Malawi grapples with a deepening economic crisis, with citizens struggling to make ends meet, civil servants and security agencies pleading for salary increases, and hospitals running out of essential medicines. The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has announced plans to pay MK666 million in nomination fees for its parliamentary and local government candidates, this publication can reveal. According to a private communication seen by this publication, the party will cover fees for all its candidates contesting in the 2025 elections. The message reads: “Good afternoon Hon Members, I have some good news. Please take note that the Party will pay nomination fees for ALL its candidates at all contested levels. The Secretariat will make further administrative announcements.” The breakdown of the fees is as follows: MK2.5 million for each of the 228 parliamentary aspirants, totaling MK570 million, and MK200,000 for each of the 480 councilor aspirants, totaling MK96 million.
