UDF rebuked DPP over derogatory language; demands apology

The United Democratic Front- UDF has issued a scratching press statement condemning the Democratic Progressive Party-DPP for insulting former President Dr Bakili Muluzi’s health, a clear sign that DPP does not respect the elderly in the society.

In the statement, that has been signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Dyson Jangiya, says former President Dr Muluzi deserves topnotch respect as he is a retired leader of the country and therefore must not be dragged into mud.

This week, Sameer Suleman who is DPP’s Organizing Secretary went into town demeaning the former’s health in reaction to Atupele Muluzi’s remarks where he is deemed to have insulted Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika by calling him “old man no need to continue” with active politics.

UDF has since asked DPP to apologize.
