Silver Strikers, a Lilongwe based soccer giants and Mighty Wanderers a club with rich history from Blantyre are expected to meet again in just 2 weeks after meeting in the final of this years FDH Bank cup and sparks will fly in Saturday’s explosive clash
Mighty Wanderers will be out to revenge the painful defeat they suffered and consequently increase their lead on the TNM log table to boost their chance of winning the league title which has eluded them for many years.
On the other hand, their opponent Silver Strikers who are currently siting in position 3 will seek victory over Wonderers inorder to reduce the gap.
Wonderers have played 21 games and are at the summit with 51 points while Silver Strikers have played 20 games, occupy position 3 with 40 points.
Mighty Wanderers remain unbeaten in 21 games this soccer season and if they win Saturday’s encounter, they will widen the gap between the two teams to 14 points
The Super League of Malawi initially scheduled the match for Silver stadium but during the week Sulom announced change of venue to Bingu National stadium
Alfred Chilinda has been appointed as the referee for this titanic match. Chilinda who also officiated the game between Mighty Wanderers and Civil in the first round, will be assisted by Clemence Kanduku and Samson Wasili
Fourth official will be Jimmy Phiri and match assessor will be Simon Jovinala, according to Sulom
